Options For Youth's independent study program helps students learn to manage their time and teaches them the study-habits of successful college students. At OFY, students are prepared for life after high school whether that means attending a junior college or 4-year university, joining the military, attending a technical or trade school, or entering the workforce. Student Advisors are available to consult with students, parents and teachers helping to motivate and guide students to their fullest academic potential. With A-G courses, post-secondary and career counseling, financial aid resources, scholarship opportunities, and college tours, students are able to reach their goals, and realize their dreams are possible.
Pathways offers organized College Tours to any OFY high school student. Tours include campus visits, discussions with college/university freshman, and workshops to help students learn:
- What to consider when selecting a college or university, including major and minor programs, sports, cost, clubs, location, and campus life
- Critical application processes like obtaining references and applying for financial aid
"College Tour is amazing! I would have never been able to visit all of these schools on my own." -Student Participant
