
West Covina, CA — September 26, 2024 — Options For Youth (OFY), a tuition-free, accredited public charter high school, celebrated the grand opening of its new campus at 131 N. Azusa Ave., West Covina, CA 91791, on September 25, 2024. This new campus marks a significant expansion of OFY’s educational services into the San Gabriel Valley, increasing access to flexible, personalized learning options for students in the region.
The grand opening featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony sponsored by the Greater West Covina Business Association. Options For Youth Principal Richard Moreno delivered a warm welcome speech, followed by West Covina Councilman Ollie Cantos, who commended the school for its efforts to provide alternative educational pathways for local students. Representatives from the offices of California Assemblywoman Blanca E. Rubio (District 48) and California Senator Susan Rubio (District 22) presented certificates of recognition in honor of the new campus. Additionally, representatives from the Covina Valley Unified School District and Duarte Unified School District were in attendance to show their support for the new school center.

Principal Richard Moreno expressed his gratitude for the community’s support and added, “Our goal in hosting this event was to inform the community about OFY's academic program. We are thrilled to be part of the West Covina community and hope to build strong relationships with community partners. We have already seen how these partnerships can enhance the student experience through volunteerism such as community service hours to work related experience which could lead to student internships.”
Families, community members, and local leaders gathered eagerly to explore the innovative programs and resources available at the new West Covina campus. The atmosphere was alive with excitement as students proudly served refreshments, embodying the sense of community that Options For Youth fosters. Representatives from the school’s charter management organization Propel, Skyrocket Education Services, and Lupine Properties, and trusted partners, joined the celebration, sharing in the enthusiasm for expanded opportunities for local students and their families.
